ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH has developed an elegant and ultra-compact display door terminal for the ePED escape route technology (electrically controlled Panic Exit Device). The new escape door solution combines all control elements within a single, small touchscreen.

A key benefit of the ePED electrically controlled escape door systems is the easy connection of two previously independent systems: the security function of blocking an emergency exit and the control of the door technology. With ePED, the door is safely released either when the emergency switch is pushed or in the event of a fault. The new display door terminal unifies all functions of a standard escape door control terminal. As the first escape route system with a touch display terminal, it includes four different modules: Key switch, emergency open, illuminated icon and display of the optional time delay.

Innovative design and high functionality

The new terminal impresses with its elegant and innovative design. The door status can be read even from far away thanks to the illuminated coloured LED frame – green for open or red for locked. The temporary release, release and reset of the escape door can be carried out directly on the terminal as usual. All relevant information, such as the door status, technical details or maintenance information can be retrieved or configured via the display. The graphic design and the situational displays make the operation easy and support a quick response in emergency case.

Optional time-delayed escape door release

The integration of all functions in a single compact component significantly reduces the work required for installing and setting up the door terminal. Thanks to the Hi-O bus technology from ASSA ABLOY, connection to the door technology is easy. The ePED display terminal is approved in accordance with EN 13637:2015 and offers the option of local or central time delay after pressing the emergency button. So security or surveillance personnel can intervene in the event of misuse.

With the new ePED display door terminal, ASSA ABLOY offers architects and constructors an elegant, subtle and ultra-modern solution for escape door control.
